The naming of lies.

THE CONSERVATIVE LIAR FLYER – GENERAL ELECTION 2010

Conservative Strategy:  Characterise Brown as a ‘bogey man’.

Flyer claim 1: “A HUNG PARLIAMENT WOULD MEAN 5 MORE YEARS OF
GORDON BROWN.”

Observation: The hung Parliament, in the event, precipitated Brown’s departure from No 10. This was the precise opposite of the Liar flyer assertion.

Flyer claim 2: “The only way to make sure we don’t have 5 more years of Gordon Brown is to vote Conservative.”

Observation: This requires the ‘fool/knave’ interpretation of the word “only”.

Flyer claim 3: “Brown to stay as PM in hung parliament” (ex Guardian)

Observation: The Guardian is not known as infallible. No change there!

Flyer claim 4:   “The choice at this election: 5 more years of Gordon Brown or Change with the Conservatives.”

Observation: Other choices were available.

Flyer claim 5: “The Conservatives must win here to stop another five years of Gordon Brown.”

Observation: In a number of constituencies, where this message was promulgated, the Conservatives did not win. Further, they did not win in the country as a whole. But Labour were too reduced to form a coalition; Brown departed. A Double Whammy?

Flyer claim 6: “It’s that simple: a cross in the box for any other party is a cross in the box for Gordon Brown.”  (Signed: David Cameron – ‘personal message’)

Observation: It’s this simple: that is a fatuous, false claim by David Cameron, who we must endure, as PM, for 5 YEARS.  All we changed was one bogey for another! The Cameron Conservatives are – thus far – immune from ‘democratic’ challenge.
Coalition did not deliver integrity.
