The unacceptable face of multiculturalism

The unacceptable face of multiculturalism

Some decades back, Prime Minister Heath coined: “The Unacceptable Face of Capitalism”; he meant when capitalism is in rapacious and oppressive mode.

We are currently hearing a tale of men from an alien culture (a culture redolent of our Middle Ages) despising, and preying sexually on young white females. Typically, we seem to have no stomach to address their rapacious and oppressive actions, with candour. Here is my attempt: The offending men are from a culture that leads them to be contemptuous of our (apparently) ‘loose women’; and our degraded culture makes sure that ‘loose women’ are in ready supply for them, having afforded them no rescue.

Both cultures are lacking in wisdom, but it was our ignoramus ‘leaders’ who embraced cultural mixing as a ‘good’. They seem intoxicated by quaint dress and exotic food; colonialism dies hard in the English. Might our colonial legacy be one (also) of a (blinding) contempt?  To parody another Conservative aphorism, this time from 1979, aimed at Labour, “MULTICULTURE ISN’T WORKING”. Sadly, politicians know little of human frailties – and they care less, as they busily deny their own.

I suggest that the multicultural error ranks alongside alcohol, tobacco, gambling and sexual license, as markers for our time and place. We have been poorly governed for decades, and competence is clearly declining.
